The weather threatened worse but it was just drizzling for most of the race and the visibility was good with some brighter intervals. The real downpour held off until after the finish and the showers were hot and the tea was freshly brewed, so there was once again a warm welcome in the Rossendale Sailing Club. This is still one of the Northern Veterans best-kept secrets and really should be savoured by everyone. Apart from the initial climb the going is all on gravel roads and good quality paths and it's not that easy to get lost, thanks to Jack's sterling efforts to mark up the course. Thanks go particularly to the marshals who were stood out for quite a while in the inclement conditions to make sure everyone got round.
