The unseasonably warm weather made up for the downpour at this venue last year and this was a truly glorious day for a spectacular run in beautiful surroundings around the Wayoh Reservoir. Early leader Alex Rowe took off on a detour of the old course by ascending to the Entwistle Reservoir and completing an extra half mile, eventually coming in third. he left the way open for last year's winner Dave Norman, now signed up, to improve on last year's win by half a minute. There was a good turnout this year in the great weather and the reputation of one of the Northern Veterans most picturesque and enjoyable Monthly Runs is growing.
Many thanks go to Jack and Pat Betney who made a great job of organising this race from the Edgeworth Institute, and thanks once again to the helpers, timekeepers and recorders for making the day a success.
The next Northern Veterans meeting is in four week's time at the AGM in Leigh at the excellent new facilities at the Harriers' superb facilities in the Sports Village, with a run on the Pennington Flash.
